A good message! Sadly, lynching still continues, except they take another form to hide their true foulness.

How can human beings have been so cruel to each other? Did they not have hearts? I don’t get it.

@DrinkFromMyThickDick What is your problem? You are so ignorant….how dare you come onto a powerful, important song’s page and completely undermine what that song is about in one awful sentence.

Indeed. The pain whites suffered at the hand of the animal blacks was just outrageous. It’s a good thing whites persevered and continue to remind the niggers of their subordinate spot in society.

Emotion like this is rare in music today, and so is the power of the message. It’s sad that in that time, most people were deaf to her words. But today we know, and we have learned. Healing takes time, but people have to want it. As long as African-Americans and European-Americans point fingers at each other and exclaim ‘racist’ just because of color, we are all still wrong. All colors need to drop the pretenses, drop the hate, and let the sunshine in. One world, one people. None above any.

Hey man, I dig what you’re saying about racist pricks, but you’re sinking to his level by claiming your own racial superiority. It’s the same coin, only a different side. You’re better than that, so remember, to truly buck back against the racist pigs, rise above them and understand each race has it’s strengths and weaknesses, but ultimately, we are all human. We are one world, one people. And we share a common color, if it’s that important. Red, and it beats strong.

See, it’s people like you that give the rest of us crackas a bad name. The racial divide still stands in America because people are so trivial as to judge based on skin color, which is sad considering our own Constitution defines ALL men created equal. How truly pathetic you are to be stuck in pre-Civil Rights notions. Lemme give you some helpful advice: Get over it, and come join us in the 2010’s. I promise that common sense and decency aren’t bad attributes to have.

Please…..we can sift out the negative and accept the positive. I’d like to ask everyone to investigate Billie’s story as on Artist and in particular, how she used her position as such to bring attention to the many wrongs that she witnessed. Do research on this song and see what she was trying to do when she chose to perform it. Her story of risks and struggles, just trying to perform at that time are like Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne, and even the very well respected Marian Anderson. Peace.

@carebonez it did not sound like a voice but like the old vinyl records at the end …kind of a swish sound.
