In this case then I would go by your child’s school calendar. This won’t work for the summer but from there you can select every other one or agree who gets what. Keep in mind, your child is not a pawn in all this and the more you both argue and disagree then the harder it will be on him. Kids feel the tention in their parents.

Holidays are new year’s, mother’s day, father’s day, memorial day, fourth of july, labor day, thanksgiving, and christmas. Typically, whomever has christmas eve has to let the other parent have christmas day. Mothers get mother’s day and father’s get father’s day. Each parent gets the child on their birthday, and they share the child’s birthday. Easter is not recognized by the courts, so whomever has him on that weekend gets the child on that holiday.

the important ones that you celebrate easter ,memorial day ,4th of july;labor day ,Halloween,Thanksgiving,Christmas ,New Years or one year you get Christmas the next she does .. that’s the way it is most the time you take turns and alternate years and holidays..the best advice is to agree and not argue share the days you get morning her evening that way you both get to spend time with your son on every holiday he is the one that matters he shouldn’t have to do without seeing you guys on every holiday just because you got divorced be adults think of him

My hubby went though this with his ex. Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Memorial Day, and 4th of July. Usually with Christmas it goes from Christmas Eve to Christmas noon then the other parent gets the child from Christmas noon til the next day. And it goes odd years for one parent even for the other. Then Mother’s Day mom gets the child and Father’s Day the dad gets the child.

There should be an official holiday list with times in the divorce/custody paperwork…….If not, you need to contact the court and have it amended to be added in.

Hopefully you guys are not fighting over stupid holidays like St Patrick’s Day….or MLK day…like my ex does.
